The first part from Athens to Korinth of the A8 are ready and have 3+3 lanes incl. emergency lanes. From Korinth to Patra any parts are ready and any parts will be build until 2011 with 2+2 lanes and emergency lanes. The largest part of this motorway is build with new jersey blocks.

 Project Financing

OLYMPIA ODOS is currently the biggest construction project in Greece and one of the biggest in Europe.

The total cost of the project during the six year construction period is € 2.8 billion (excluding VAT), which includes construction cost, operation and maintenance cost, tax and interest.

The project is funded by a combination of bank loans, toll revenues, Shareholders’ private investment and the Greek State.

Half of the Greek State subsidy is directly coming from European funds.
